Core Banking Technical Consultant
Job Summary:
The Technical consultant will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions within the banking sector. With an understanding of both technical concepts and banking processes, you will work alongside senior engineers and product teams to develop solutions that improve banking services and enhance customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Assist in deploying and developing customizations for banking applications and systems (core banking systems, payment systems, etc.).
- Banking Process Understanding (added advantage): Leverage your knowledge of banking processes, such as Current & Savings accounts, Term deposits, etc., to tailor technology solutions.
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance for banking software, ensuring that systems are functioning optimally and troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Integration: Support the integration of third-party solutions and services (such as payment gateways, fraud detection tools, etc.) with existing banking infrastructure.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, product managers, and quality assurance teams to ensure that developed solutions meet the business needs of the banking industry.
- Compliance & Security: Assist in ensuring that solutions comply with documented security standards
- Documentation & Reporting: Document technical processes, solutions, and procedures for internal use and knowledge sharing.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience in the banking or financial services industry with a focus on technology solutions.
- Technical Skills:
- Programming languages: Java, C#, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with Core Banking Systems (e.g., Flexcube, Finacle, Temenos, etc.).
- Exposure to Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript (for front-end development).
- Familiarity with APIs and integration techniques for banking systems.
- Understanding of Database Management: Relational databases (SQL, Oracle)
- Exposure to Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and deployment automation is a plus.
- Exposure to CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins
- Understanding of Application servers such as WebLogic, Tomcat, JBOSS
- Basic understanding of SQL for querying databases and validating data.
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or other project management and documentation software.
- Banking Domain Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of banking operations such as payments, lending, savings, and transaction systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies in the financial services industry.
