about the company
Join a leading Singapore public-sector organization to manage and secure critical, large-scale enterprise network infrastructure.
about the role
You will oversee the stability, security, and day-to-day operations of mission-critical cloud platforms. In this senior hands-on role, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and strategic stakeholder management. You will guide engineering teams, enforce stringent security standards, and maintain smooth operations for high-availability systems. Your key responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain multi-cloud environments (predominantly AWS, with supporting footprints in Azure and GCP) to ensure continuous availability, optimal performance, and strict SLA compliance.
- Serve as the L3 technical escalation point for complex system issues, leading root-cause analyses and providing active mentorship to Level 2 and junior system engineers.
- Manage OS-level maintenance, performance tuning, and patch management schedules across hybrid Windows and Linux infrastructure within controlled, regulated environments.
- Drive infrastructure hardening (such as CIS benchmarks), routine vulnerability remediations, certificate lifecycle tracking, and lifecycle management for aging software/runtimes.
- Support CI/CD deployment pipelines, containerized environments, and adhere to structured ITIL processes (Incident, Change, and Problem Management) to ensure complete audit readiness.
- Actively participate in an operational shift rotation and maintain flexibility for off-peak maintenance/patching windows to support continuous enterprise operations.
skills and experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a commercial cloud engineering or technical leadership role, with strong hands-on expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and working knowledge of Azure or GCP.
- Understanding of operating within public sector or highly regulated frameworks (e.g., Singapore government ICT/IM8 policies, network-separated environments, or secure pipelines like SHIP-HATS).
- Familiarity with both Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) administration, operating system patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, Azure Update Manager, AWS Systems Manager), and IaC/scripting tools (Terraform, PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Practical exposure to container orchestration platforms (EKS, AKS, GKE, Docker) and integrated security scanning workflows.
- Practical experience working with ITIL-aligned processes and ticketing platforms (Jira, ServiceNow).
- Readiness to support a 24/7 operational coverage rotation and standby maintenance windows.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect/SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Azure/Windows Server certifications, RHCE, or ITIL Foundation.
