Role Overview
The Technical Business Analyst plays a key role in bridging business needs and technical delivery. The role involves leading requirements analysis, performing technical assessments, coordinating with vendors and technical teams, and ensuring solutions meet business, technical, and governance requirements. The Technical BA is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage multiple vendors and external ICT service providers, working closely with application and infrastructure teams to deliver projects and enhancements aligned withbusiness outcomes
- Review and, where required, write Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and troubleshoot infrastructure and platform-level issues
- Perform configuration tasks in the AWS Management Console to support solution setup, validation, and troubleshooting
- Support project management activities including scope, schedule, documentation, and management reporting
- Drive and spearhead project activities such as requirements gathering, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, and implementation
- Review and validate project deliverables such as functional specifications, test plans, test results, user guides, and operations manuals
- Perform technical analysis on system architecture, integrations, APIs, and data flows to assess feasibility, impacts, and dependencies
- Collaborate with solution architects, infrastructure teams, and developers to ensure proposed designs meet business, functional, and security requirements
- Assess and analyse change and service requests, recommending solution options and prioritisation based on business impact and technical complexity
- Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for projects and incidents are met
- Identify project risks, assess impact, and recommend mitigation measures
- Ensure systems and development processes comply with IT governance, quality management standards, and security policies
- Manage and resolve day-to-day IT related issues pertaining to applications, infrastructure, or security
- Work with relevant parties to resolve security vulnerabilities
- Conduct requirements workshops to elicit user requirements, analyse business processes and system interactions, and document problem statements and solutions
Knowledge & Skills
- Tertiary education in a relevant field is preferred
- Hands-on experience in multiple full project development lifecycles
- Consulting or Business Analysis experience
- Business Analysis certifications (e.g. CCBA, CBAP) are advantageous
- Strong technical background with experience in: 1. Cloud infrastructure and applications, including Infrastructure-as-Code 2. AWS cloud services configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting 3. Government processes, policies, compliance, and governance requirements
- Strong analytical, conceptualisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think strategically while managing detailed technical issues
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Results and customer-oriented mindset
Experience Requirement
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst
