  • Collaborate with senior consultants and engineering teams to analyse existing legacy system behaviour, including COBOL code logic, batch processes, and integration touchpoints.
  • Lead and contribute to requirement definition activities for legacy modernisation initiatives, translating both business needs and legacy system constraints into actionable requirements.
  • Act as a bridge between legacy/mainframe systems and modern cloud architectures, ensuring functional parity and alignment with business outcomes.
  • Support solution design by contributing to functional specifications, technical workflows, and design alignments, grounded in legacy system understanding.
  • Facilitate and drive workshops and walkthrough sessions with business stakeholders and technical teams to validate requirements, assumptions, and solution approaches.
  • Support solution validation activities by reviewing proposed technical designs against legacy constraints, operational rules, and business requirements.
  • Contribute to project documentation including requirement artefacts, design inputs, status updates, and client-facing materials.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent understanding of requirements across business, legacy SMEs, and delivery teams.

Job Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience analysing COBOL-based legacy systems and translating business and technical logic into Java/AWS target architectures.
  • Ability to understand and walk through legacy code logic (COBOL) with engineering teams to derive functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Capability to bridge mainframe/legacy system behaviour with distributed cloud-based designs.
  • Experience leading requirement definition for legacy system modernisation projects, including current-state analysis and target-state definition.
  • Ability to comprehend technical requirements at code and design level, and support basic validation or debugging discussions where required.
  • Effective communicator and able to translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms for stakeholder and client discussions.
  • Proven experience conducting and driving client-facing workshops focused on requirements, solution walkthroughs, and design validation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to break down complex problems, synthesise inputs from multiple sources, and formulate clear solution responses.
  • Experience supporting solution validation by reviewing technical designs against legacy constraints and business requirements.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise functional and technical documentation, including requirement specifications, process flows, and solution design inputs.
  • Have working knowledge of SDLC, particularly in transformation and modernisation contexts.
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams comprising business, legacy system SMEs, and modern application engineers.
