This is a hands-on Technical Business Analyst role, suited for candidates who enjoy working closely with engineering teams on cloud-based, agile digital products
Key responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering and technical analysis for digital products and platforms, working closely with business users, engineers, architects, and delivery teams to understand needs, constraints, and solution options.
- Translate business, operational, and policy requirements into clear functional and technical artefacts, including product requirements, user stories, process flows, data models, and integration specifications, with strong traceability across the delivery lifecycle.
- Analyse complex business and system problems using process mapping, data analysis, and impact assessments, recommending practical solutions that balance user needs, technical feasibility, cost, and cloud architecture considerations.
- Act as a bridge between business and technology teams in agile development environments, actively participating in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Support solution design in cloud-hosted environments, working with technical teams to clarify requirements related to cloud infrastructure, security, scalability, performance, and integration with enterprise platforms.
- Design and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation strategies, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements, compliance needs, and quality standards
- Work closely with development teams post go-live to support production monitoring, analyse user feedback and system data, and drive continuous improvements to digital products.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and optimisation through the use of digital platforms, data, and ecosystem-based approaches, contributing to longer-term product and portfolio planning.
- Apply and continuously improve business analysis tools, techniques, and standards, contributing to organisational best practices and delivery maturity
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of experience in business analysis, with demonstrated experience working on enterprise-scale, technology-driven systems.
- Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst working closely with engineering and cloud teams.
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies and cloud hosting concepts (e.g. SaaS/PaaS/IaaS, APIs, integrations, environments, security and non-functional requirements).
- Hands-on experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery teams, with strong familiarity with agile ceremonies and artefacts.
- Experience performing gap analysis, impact assessment, and dependency analysis, especially in complex or multi-system environments.
- Familiarity with low-code / no-code platforms and Whole-of-Government platform (e.g. Singpass/Corppass/Myinfo, Govt commercial cloud) is an advantage.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with business leaders, technical teams, and external partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and other agile delivery and documentation platforms
- Ability to learn new domains and technologies quickly, and to operate effectively in complex, evolving environments.
