Technical Architect

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Architect / Application Owner with strong domain expertise in Futures, Derivatives & Clearing (FDC) and Payments (SWIFT MT/MX & APAC Domestic Payment Systems).

The ideal candidate will possess deep experience in enterprise application architecture, platform modernization, real-time data integration, and cloud-native transformation initiatives within global banking environments.

This role requires ownership of mission-critical banking platforms, leadership across full SDLC cycles, regulatory-aligned solution delivery, release governance, and L3 production support management across NAM, EMEA, and APAC regions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Solution Design

• Lead end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-grade banking applications.

• Architect scalable microservices-based solutions using:

  • Java, Spring Boot

  • REST APIs

  • Kafka (Event Streaming)

  • RDBMS (Oracle / PostgreSQL / SQL Server)

• Design high-availability, low-latency systems supporting FDC and Payments platforms.

• Ensure architectural alignment with enterprise governance and regulatory standards.

2. Application Ownership & Governance

• Own business-critical applications including:

  • Application roadmap planning

  • Lifecycle management

  • Capacity planning

  • Risk and compliance oversight

• Provide L3 production support oversight and incident governance.

• Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for high-severity incidents.

• Manage technical debt reduction initiatives.

3. Payments & FDC Platform Expertise

• Implement and enhance payment gateway integrations for:

  • SWIFT MT / MX messages

  • APAC domestic clearing systems

• Architect real-time and batch-based transformation pipelines integrating upstream country processors with global FDC platforms.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulatory requirements and clearing standards.

4. Platform Modernization & Cloud Transformation

• Lead modernization initiatives migrating legacy systems to:

  • OpenShift / Kubernetes (containerized environments)

  • Cloud-native architectures

• Drive CI/CD enablement and DevOps maturity.

• Improve observability, scalability, and resilience of platforms.

5. SDLC & Release Governance

• Oversee full SDLC delivery including:

  • Requirements analysis

  • Architecture design

  • Development & SIT

  • UAT & Production deployment

• Manage release cycles, change management, and governance approvals.

• Ensure compliance with internal audit and regulatory control frameworks.

6. Quality, Security & Compliance

• Enforce secure coding and quality standards using:

  • SonarQube

  • Checkmarx

  • Snyk

  • Blackduck

  • Greater Expectations (GE)

• Ensure applications meet enterprise security baselines and audit controls.

7. Global Stakeholder & Team Leadership

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across NAM, EMEA, and APAC.

• Mentor engineering teams and promote Agile/Scrum best practices.

• Provide technical direction and decision-making leadership.

• Align business, product, and engineering stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 10+ years of experience in Banking & Financial Services.

• Strong domain expertise in:

  • Futures, Derivatives & Clearing (FDC)

  • Payments (SWIFT MT/MX, APAC Domestic)

• Extensive experience in Java-based enterprise architecture.

• Hands-on knowledge of containerization and orchestration (OpenShift / Kubernetes).

• Strong understanding of financial regulatory compliance frameworks.

• Experience managing global delivery teams.
