Conduct Environment Assessments: Perform comprehensive audits of existing virtualization environments to inventory VMs, storage utilization, and network dependencies using tools like Migration Director for Virtualization, ensuring full visibility into migration readiness.
Design Target DCS Architecture: Define the target Huawei DCS solution architecture, including Fusion Compute(FC) version selection, CNA node configuration, cluster sizing, and DRS (Dynamic Resource Scheduler) policies for new deployments.
Plan Application Migrations: Map application interdependencies and traffic flows to design phased, zero-downtime migration strategies, leveraging online migration techniques such as Storage vMotion and live VM migration.
Lead Greenfield Deployments: Oversee the end-to-end deployment of Huawei DCS at new sites, including installation of CNA hosts, VRM management nodes, storage integration (e.g., OceanStor Dorado via FC SAN), and multi-path configuration with UltraPath.
Validate System Performance & Stability: Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to verify that the new environment meets SLA requirements for, availability, and failover capability, including HA and DRS functionality.
Manage Workload Migration Execution: Direct the use of Huawei migration tools (MigrationDirector, StoragevMotion) to seamlessly move workloads from legacy platforms (e.g., VMware) to Huawei DCS with minimal disruption.
Develop Technical Documentation: Deliver comprehensive As-Built documentation, network topology diagrams, and rollback procedures to ensure operational readiness and support long-term maintainability.
Lead Cutover Decision-Making: Serve as the primary technical authority during Go/No-Go meetings, making real-time decisions based on system health, migration progress, and risk assessment to ensure successful workload transitions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or Management.
10+ years of experience in IT service management or technical account management.
In-depth knowledge of Huawei DCS solutions: FusionCube, OceanStor, FusionServer, FusionSphere.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
