Job Description
As a Talend Team Lead, you will join our Applications (Apps)team to lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise dataintegration solutions using the Talend platform. You will provide technicalleadership across ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) initiatives, guide teammembers in translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions,and apply strong hands-on expertise in Talend, Java, SQL, and enterprise dataintegration.

What will you do
Technical Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment ofETL workflows using Talend Open Studio or Talend Data Integration
- Design and implement end-to-end data integration solutionsto extract, transform, and load data from multiple source systems
- Review technical requirements and translate business needsinto scalable and maintainable Talend solutions
- Develop custom Java components, routines, and reusableframeworks within Talend where required
- Write, review, and optimise SQL queries for extraction,transformation, validation, and reconciliation
- Oversee version control and release management of Talendjobs and related components
- Ensure solution design aligns with project architecture,security, and data governance requirements
Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead and mentor junior and senior Talend developers intechnical delivery and best practices
- Allocate development tasks and oversee delivery quality,timelines, and issue resolution
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback tosupport capability building across the team
- Support structured onboarding and knowledge sharing withinthe Applications Development team
- Guide team members on development standards, documentationquality, and deployment practices
Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Ensure unit testing, debugging, and validation activitiesare completed to maintain data quality and solution stability
- Review technical specifications, data mappings, ETL designdocuments, and operational procedures
- Support SIT, UAT, and production deployment activities,including defect triage and resolution
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for technicaldesign, support handover, and audit requirements
- Drive adherence to development standards, secure codingpractices, and project delivery controls
Stakeholder Collaboration & Project Support
- Work closely with project managers, architects, businessanalysts, and clients to deliver project milestones
- Participate in requirement gathering, solutionwalkthroughs, estimation, and project planning sessions
- Lead or support client data migration and integrationinitiatives as assigned
- Provide effort estimates, risk identification, andmitigation recommendations for assigned workstreams
- Support data profiling, source system analysis, andtechnical impact assessments
- Participate in client meetings and provide technicalguidance where needed
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Strong hands-on experience in Talend Open Studio or TalendData Integration
- Strong foundation in Java programming and object-orienteddesign
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databaseconcepts, including joins, stored procedures, and query optimisation
- Good understanding of ETL concepts, data integrationpatterns, and data migration approaches
- Familiarity with database management systems such asMySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL Server
- Understanding of software development principles, datastructures, and application lifecycle practices
Preferred Technical Experience
- Experience leading or supporting enterprise-scale dataintegration projects
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and dimensionalmodelling
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
- Understanding of XML, JSON, REST, and SOAP web services
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git orSVN
- Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Shellscripting
- Experience in production support, release deployment, anddefect management
- Exposure to client-facing delivery environments acrossdifferent sectors
Professional Certifications (Advantageous)
- Talend Data Integration Certification
- Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) Java Programmer
- Database certifications in Oracle, Microsoft, or MySQL
- Relevant certifications in ETL, data integration, cloud,or big data technologies
- Agile or Scrum-related certifications are an addedadvantage
Education Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, InformationTechnology, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in Talenddevelopment, ETL, or data integration, including experience in technicalleadership or team coordination
