Tech Lead - Digital Assets

About The Role

We are looking for an exceptional technology builder to take ownership of the technology underpinning our digital-assets and Real-World Asset tokenisation business. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to remain close to the technology while growing as an engineering leader. You will spend approximately half your time designing, building and reviewing solutions, demonstrating what excellent engineering looks like and leading the team by example. The remainder of your time will be focused on technical strategy, architecture, team leadership, product collaboration and delivery.

You will take ownership of an existing platform spanning RWA tokenisation, smart contracts, blockchain networks, Fireblocks integrations and the off-chain systems required to support real-world financial products. You will jointly shape the product and technology roadmap with Product and work closely with the Senior Delivery Manager to turn that roadmap into reliable delivery.

The role requires someone who can connect Web3 technology with the realities of Web2 systems, regulated financial services and real-world operations. Tokenised products still depend on off-chain data, approvals, controls, legal events, reconciliations and operational processes. You will ensure these components work together as a secure, coherent and scalable platform.

Key responsibilities

Hands-on technical leadership

• Remain actively involved in architecture, software development, smart-contract development and code review.
• Demonstrate high engineering standards through your own designs, code, testing and documentation.
• Work alongside engineers to solve complex technical problems and unblock delivery.
• Establish practical standards for software design, code quality, testing, documentation and maintainability.
• Make thoughtful build-versus-buy decisions and guide the selection of technologies, frameworks and integration patterns.
• Stay current with developments in blockchain, digital assets, AI-assisted engineering and financial technology.

Platform and architecture ownership

• Take end-to-end technical ownership of the existing digital-assets and RWA tokenisation platform.
• Define and evolve the target architecture in support of the business and product strategy.
• Ensure the platform is secure, scalable, resilient, observable and maintainable.
• Own the technical integration of blockchain networks, smart contracts, custody infrastructure, product applications and off-chain services.
• Establish appropriate architectural principles and review processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Maintain a clear view of technical debt and ensure it is considered alongside new product development.
• Have the authority to approve technical designs and reject approaches that do not meet agreed security, quality or architectural standards.
  
  

Multi-chain and smart-contract development

• Lead the design and development of blockchain solutions across EVM-compatible networks, Stellar and Solana.
• Maintain deep expertise in at least one of these ecosystems and sufficient knowledge to lead engineering decisions across all three.
• Lead smart-contract development using Solidity and the relevant languages and frameworks for Stellar and Solana.
• Guide the use and implementation of token standards suitable for regulated assets, including permissioning, identity controls and transfer restrictions.
• Define standards for smart-contract design, testing, deployment, upgrades and monitoring.
• Coordinate independent smart-contract reviews and audits where required.
• Ensure on-chain logic is appropriately separated from off-chain business processes and controls.
  
  

RWA tokenisation lifecycle

• Own the technical capabilities supporting the full lifecycle of tokenised real-world assets.
• Support issuance, investor eligibility, identity and allowlisting, transfer controls, corporate actions, distributions, redemptions, reconciliation and secondary transfers.
• Design solutions that accurately connect on-chain assets with their underlying legal and financial records.
• Account for off-chain events such as approvals, document execution, payment confirmation, asset servicing and exception handling.
• Ensure that on-chain and off-chain states remain consistent, traceable and auditable.
• Work with Product, Operations, Legal and Compliance to translate product and regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions.
  
  

Custody

• Ensure transaction workflows, wallet interactions, signing requests and application integrations are secure and reliable.
• Understand how custody and transaction controls affect application architecture and the end-to-end user journey.
• Work with internal security, operations and infrastructure specialists on wallet governance, transaction controls and production support.
• Manage the technical relationship with Fireblocks and other relevant technology providers when required.
  
  

Product and roadmap partnership

• Jointly own the product and technology roadmap with the Product team.
• Bring technical opportunities, constraints, risks and dependencies into product planning.
• Help Product assess feasibility, sequencing and trade-offs before delivery commitments are made.
• Translate business and customer needs into coherent technical capabilities.
• Challenge requirements constructively when a simpler, safer or more scalable solution is available.
• Ensure foundational platform work, security improvements and technical debt receive appropriate roadmap consideration.
• Support future conversations with clients, banks, custodians, partners and other external stakeholders by communicating technical ideas clearly.
  
  

Delivery partnership

• Work closely with the Senior Delivery Manager, who will lead portfolio governance, dependency tracking and delivery reporting.
• Own technical execution, engineering quality and the credibility of technical estimates.
• Ensure the delivery plan reflects architectural dependencies, security requirements and realistic engineering capacity.
• Identify technical risks and blockers early and provide clear mitigation or recovery plans.
• Maintain transparency on progress, quality, dependencies and technical debt.
• Support predictable releases without compromising platform security or engineering standards.
  
  

Team leadership

• Lead, coach and develop an engineering team of approximately 10 people across Singapore and India.
• Build an engaged, collaborative and high-performing distributed team.
• Set clear expectations for engineering behaviour, ownership, quality and delivery.
• Provide regular feedback, coaching and career-development support.
• Create an environment in which engineers can challenge ideas, learn from mistakes and continuously improve.

Security and operational quality

• Embed secure engineering practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure appropriate threat modelling, code review, automated testing, vulnerability management and release controls are followed.
• Work with security specialists to coordinate smart-contract audits, penetration testing and remediation.
• Ensure systems handling transactions, keys, wallet requests and sensitive data receive an appropriate level of scrutiny.
• Contribute technical leadership during incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Ensure technical decisions and controls can withstand appropriate client, audit and regulatory scrutiny.
  
  

AI-enabled engineering

• Increase product and engineering throughput through the effective use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Lead by example in using AI for software development, testing, code review, documentation, analysis and troubleshooting.
• Help the team distinguish valuable AI-enabled practices from low-quality or unsafe shortcuts.
• Establish appropriate controls for confidential information, intellectual property, security and generated code.
• Measure whether AI tools are improving throughput, quality and developer effectiveness.

Experience And Qualifications

• At least eight years of professional software engineering and technology-delivery experience.
• At least four years of experience leading teams or major technical initiatives in digital assets, blockchain or tokenisation.
• Demonstrated experience taking ownership of a complex existing platform.
• Strong hands-on software engineering and architecture capabilities.
• Production experience designing and delivering blockchain applications across multiple networks.
• Strong knowledge of EVM-based development, Stellar and Solana, with deep expertise in at least one ecosystem.
• Hands-on smart-contract development experience, including Solidity.
• Experience with regulated-token or permissioned-token patterns, such as identity controls, allowlisting and transfer restrictions.
• Practical experience integrating applications through Fireblocks APIs and SDKs.
• Experience connecting on-chain applications with Web2 platforms, databases, APIs and operational workflows.
• Experience with the complete RWA or digital-asset lifecycle.
• Demonstrated success managing distributed engineering teams.
• Experience working closely with Product to shape and deliver a shared roadmap.
• Working knowledge of Azure, DevOps, CI/CD, observability and production operations.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.
