Job Description

The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. is seeking a meticulous and strategic Supply Chain & Logistics Lead to be part of our core management team. As the operational backbone of our farm-to-cup journey, you will ensure that our ethically sourced teas move seamlessly from grower to customer across our retail boutiques, signature tea bars, local B2Bpartners, and export markets. In this role, you will lead a team of two and own the full supply chain function, from demand forecasting and inventory planning through to vendor management and last-mile logistics.

Roles & Responsibilities

A. Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning

  • Own the demand forecasting process, drawing on sales data, seasonal trends, campaign calendars, and channel inputs to build accurate forward-looking plans
  • Translate forecasts into procurement and replenishment schedules that ensure product availability without over-stocking
  • Build and maintain inventory frameworks that balance stock availability against carrying costs across all locations
  • Monitor sell-through rates, flag slow-moving SKUs, and drive clearance or reallocation decisions

B. Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner with Tea Tang, managing order cycles, lead times, quality standards, and escalations
  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and fulfilment terms in line with our growth plans
  • Develop contingency sourcing strategies to reduce single-supplier dependency over time

C. Logistics & Operations

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, including coordination for export shipments
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the supply chain that affect product availability or cost
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting across the supply chain function

D. Process & Systems

  • Build and continuously improve supply chain SOPs as the business scales
  • Evaluate and implement tools or systems to improve forecasting accuracy and supply chain visibility

E. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of two direct reports, fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Delegate effectively while maintaining oversight of key supply chain activities

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of supply chain, procurement, or logistics experience, ideally within F&B, FMCG, or specialty retail
  • Hands-on experience with demand forecasting and inventory planning across multiple channels
  • Prior experience managing or mentoring a small team
  • Proven track record managing vendor relationships, ideally with international suppliers
  • Strong analytical mindset comfortable with inventory data, forecasting models, and cost analysis
  • A genuine appreciation for quality and ethical sourcing, and an understanding of how supply chain decisions impact the communities we work with
  • Experience with export logistics is a plus

What We Offer

  • Strategic Leadership: An opportunity to be part of the leadership team driving our next level of growth, with a direct hand in shaping how an established heritage brand operates and scales.
  • Comprehensive Training: We provide regular classroom and on-the-job training to deepen your expertise across our unique omni-channel ecosystem.

  • Wellness & Benefits:
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Up to $1,600 in medical and dental coverage
  • Up to 18 days of annual leave
  • Exclusive staff discounts across all B.P. de Silva Group brands
  • Complimentary daily specialty drinks at our tea bars
