Role Overview
The Team Lead - Private Banking is a senior leadership position within the Private Banking division. The role focuses on growing and managing high-net-worth client portfolios, with a particular emphasis on clients from Taiwan and the Greater China region. Reporting directly to the Head of Private Banking, the incumbent will oversee the delivery of tailored wealth solutions, drive business growth, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and operational standards.
This role requires a proactive, results-driven leader with extensive knowledge of private banking products, strong relationship management capabilities, and the ability to mentor a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing Taiwanese and Greater China client portfolios, along with proven success in business development, team leadership, and strategic collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Client Management
- Grow and manage the private banking client portfolio in line with the bank's strategic objectives,with a focus on Taiwanese and Greater China clients.
- Promote and cross-sell a comprehensive suite of private banking products, including investment advisory, wealth management, credit solutions, and insurance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction, loyalty, and portfolio growth.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging relationships with external institutions, internal departments, and branch networks to source high-net-worth clients.
2. Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of Relationship Managers, ensuring achievement of individual and collective KPIs related to AUM, revenue, and client acquisition.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and foster continuous professional development within the team.
- Manage resources effectively to maintain operational continuity, service excellence, and compliance with internal policies.
3. Risk, Compliance & Operational Oversight
- Review and approve client transactions, ongoing due diligence, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to bank policies.
- Maintain oversight of risk management practices, including AML, KYC, and other regulatory obligations.
- Ensure the team follows internal procedures for client onboarding, product implementation, and portfolio monitoring.
4. Strategic Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with internal departments, product specialists, and external partners to deliver tailored solutions and enhance the client experience.
- Provide timely reporting on team performance, client development, and business opportunities to PB Management.
- Execute strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects assigned by management to support business objectives.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, or a related field advanced degrees or professional qualifications preferred.
Professional Certification:
- CACS Paper 1 & Paper 2 or equivalent private banking/wealth management certifications.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years in private banking or wealth management, with strong leadership and team management experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing Taiwanese and Greater China client portfolios is essential.
Skills & Competencies:
