We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teachers of French to join our expanding team in August 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching French across the Primary and/or Senior levels, fostering students language proficiency, cultural awareness, and confidence in communication.

This role requires a genuine passion for the French language, strong classroom management skills, and the ability to deliver creative and engaging lessons within a diverse, multicultural learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective French language curriculum and lesson plans aligned with the Cambridge International Framework and Perse curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive French lessons to students of varying ages and proficiency levels.
  • Develop students language proficiency across listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Promote cultural awareness by integrating French history, customs, and traditions into learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leaders on student development.
  • Participate actively in extracurricular and cultural activities related to the French language.
  • Stay updated on new teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
  • Uphold The Perse School values and safeguarding responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, French, or a related field, with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, PGDE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma, or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting.
  • Proficiency in French (native or near-native level) and excellent command of English.
  • Strong understanding of the Cambridge curriculum for primary and/or secondary programmes.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including EAL learners.
  • Demonstrated classroom management, instructional planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute to school life beyond the classroom, including trips, clubs, and cultural events.
