Job Description

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Tanker Broker to join our brokerage team. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating tanker chartering transactions across all types of tanker cargoes, managing relationships with shipowners and charterers, and providing market intelligence to support commercial opportunities and business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Handle tanker chartering and broking activities covering all types of tanker cargoes, including spot and period fixtures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with shipowners, charterers, operators, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Source and match suitable vessels with cargo requirements and chartering opportunities across various tanker segments.
  • Negotiate freight rates, chartering terms, and commercial conditions between owners and charterers.
  • Monitor tanker freight markets, vessel positions, cargo movements, trading patterns, and market trends.
  • Provide clients with regular market updates, fixture information, and commercial insights.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the tanker brokerage network.
  • Manage negotiations and fixture details through to successful conclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records of market enquiries, negotiations, fixtures, and client activities.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with market participants to generate repeat business and expand the brokerage portfolio.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Tanker Broker or in a closely related tanker chartering role.
  • Strong understanding of the tanker shipping and chartering market, with exposure to various types of tanker cargoes.
  • Proven experience in handling tanker fixtures and commercial negotiations.
  • Established relationships with shipowners, charterers, operators, and other tanker market participants will be an advantage.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
  • Good understanding of tanker freight markets, vessel supply and demand, and major trading routes.
  • Self-motivated, commercially driven, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
