Responsibilities:
Purchasing Strategy & Planning:
. Identify and analyse procurement and outsourcing needs for current and future projects, including repeat programs
. Conduct market research and monitor market developments
. Translate product developments into supplier opportunities
. Formulate product sourcing strategy aligned with internal purchasing policies and external market analysis
. Develop purchasing plans per segment, including quality audit planning
Supplier Selection & Qualification:
. Analyse supplier capabilities for make-vs-buy decisions
. Assess joint risks and develop risk mitigation scenarios
. Establish preferred supplier list with qualified second sources
. Execute supplier release process in accordance with defined procedures
. Conduct progress meetings and drive supplier development
. Implement changes to framework contracts
Supplier Performance Management:
. Select suppliers based on identified purchasing needs
. Manage supplier development, qualification, and performance (cost, quality, delivery)
. Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and commercial agreements
. Draft purchasing contracts and transfer to operational buyers
. Conduct supplier audits
. Evaluate and monitor supplier performance KPIs
Information & Governance:
. Monitor supplier developments and market changes
. Identify bottlenecks and assess impact on product and project performance
. Advise organisation on supplier performance and related business risks
. Maintain and update supplier database and contractual terms
. Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
Requirements:
. Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline
. Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
. Minimum 5 years experience sourcing Built-To-Print (BTP) parts such as:
o Precision machining
o Sheet metal fabrication
o Contract Manufacturing
. Experience in semiconductor equipment or high-tech manufacturing preferred
. Proven experience in:
o Project-based procurement
o New Product Introduction (NPI)
o Production transfer programs
o Supplier development and qualification
. Strong understanding of make-vs-buy decision processes
. Ability to conduct market analysis and translate product developments into sourcing strategies
. Knowledge of supplier risk assessment and mitigation planning
. Familiar with supplier audit processes and quality release procedures
. Strong negotiation skills (pricing, commercial terms, delivery conditions)
. Ability to manage supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery, lead time)
. Experience in contract drafting and framework agreement management
. Analytical mindset with capability to identify bottlenecks and propose mitigation scenarios
. Ability to align purchasing strategy with internal policies and external market conditions
. Familiarity with environmental, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements
. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional coordination skills
. Proficient in ERP systems and supplier database management
