About the Role
We are seeking a System Engineer to support product development and industrialisation activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure seamless design transfer, product quality, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Oversee Design Transfer through application of Design for Excellence (DfX) principles
- Conduct design reviews to ensure ease of assembly, manufacturability, and high yield rates
- Design and develop assembly and test jigs/fixtures
- Ensure product designs account for long-term sustaining and lifecycle considerations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as liaison between R&D, Manufacturing, and Suppliers
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for assigned systems and provide training where required
Process Improvement & Cost Optimisation
- Drive cost efficiency through system design optimisation
- Apply LEAN manufacturing principles to improve processes and reduce waste
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements
- Maintain proper documentation for design and manufacturing processes
- Develop and manage workflows to support regulatory and quality standards
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a product development or engineering environment
- Familiar with Design for Excellence (DfX) principles
- Experience with tools such as DOORs, JAMA, or SAP
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g. medical devices, life sciences, manufacturing) is preferred
- Exposure to electromechanical systems is advantageous
- Familiarity with 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks) or Electrical CAD (e.g. Altium Designer)
