We Are Seeking: Systems Engineer

This is a hands-on infrastructure engineering role focused on designing, building, and operating the systems that underpin trading and research platforms.

You will work across operating systems, compute environments, and automation tooling, supporting production systems while driving performance, stability, and scalability improvements.

Background from buy-side firms, hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, or similarly performance-sensitive or trading-aligned environments is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production infrastructure across compute, storage, and operating systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and performance issues in live trading and research environments
• Automate deployment, configuration, and operational workflows
• Monitor system performance and drive improvements in latency, reliability, and efficiency
• Support and scale distributed systems across multiple environments and regions
• Partner with internal teams to deliver stable and scalable platforms
• Participate in system upgrades, deployments, and lifecycle management
• Enhance monitoring, observability, and operational tooling

Requirements

• Experience in Linux or Windows systems administration in production environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, applications, and infrastructure layers
• Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar)
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Experience with automation or configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
• Familiarity with server hardware, virtualization, or distributed systems environments
• Ability to operate effectively in high-availability, fast-paced environments
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Highly Relevant Experience

• Experience supporting trading systems or low-latency environments
• Exposure to large-scale distributed systems or HPC environments
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of system-level performance tuning
• Experience with enterprise Windows environments (e.g. Active Directory)
• Exposure to cluster schedulers, storage systems, or compute platforms
