Systems Engineer (Mainframe)

Contract Duration: 1 years (12 Months)

Work Location: Toh Payoh, Singapore

Work Timing: Office Hours

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer – Mainframe to provide technical support, administration, and maintenance for mainframe development tools and Software Configuration Management (SCM) systems. The ideal candidate will support modernization initiatives, streamline application delivery processes, and ensure operational stability across mainframe environments.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support and maintenance for mainframe tools including JOBSCAN, ChangeMan SCM, and related utilities.
Support migration initiatives from ChangeMan SCM to IBM ADFz bundle products and modern DevOps toolchains.
Configure, maintain, and administer Software Configuration Management (SCM) systems in mainframe environments.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for mainframe applications to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe tools, compilers, runtime environments, and batch processing.
Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to support smooth release management and application delivery.
Develop and maintain operational documentation, system configurations, procedures, and runbooks.
Perform scripting and automation using REXX, JCL, or similar technologies.
Monitor system performance and ensure stability of mainframe development environments.
Support modernization and integration efforts involving Git, IBM Developer for z/OS, and UrbanCode Deploy.
Perform additional software tool administration and support tasks as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in mainframe systems support and software configuration management.
Hands-on experience with ChangeMan SCM and version control processes.
Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
Good knowledge of mainframe development tools, debuggers, file managers, and IBM ADFz suite.
Experience in scripting and automation using REXX, JCL, or related technologies.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
Understanding of mainframe DevOps practices and CI/CD concepts.
Exposure to Git integration, IBM Developer for z/OS, or UrbanCode Deploy is an advantage.
Good communication and documentation skills.
