Job Summary
First Tel Tech is looking for a capable and hands-on Systems & Cloud Engineer to support our managed IT services and project deployments for SME customers. The role is suitable for someone who can handle more than basic desktop support and is comfortable working on Microsoft 365, Windows Server, cloud services, backup, endpoint security, monitoring, and customer IT infrastructure projects.
The engineer will be involved in troubleshooting, implementation, documentation, and improvement of customer environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for customer IT environments, including PCs, servers, Microsoft 365, networking, backup, and security solutions.
- Support and deploy Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Entra ID, MFA, and basic security settings.
- Assist with Microsoft Intune device enrolment, policy deployment, endpoint configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Support Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file services, GPO, patching, and basic hardening.
- Assist in server migration, cloud migration, email migration, backup configuration, and endpoint security deployment projects.
- Monitor and troubleshoot backup, antivirus, server, and network alerts using tools such as Acronis, Sophos, Zabbix, or similar platforms.
- Perform onsite and remote troubleshooting for customers.
- Prepare technical documentation, handover notes, inventory records, and service reports.
- Work with vendors and internal teams to resolve escalated issues.
- Support cybersecurity improvement tasks such as MFA rollout, endpoint protection, patching, backup review, and basic audit evidence collection.
Technical Skills Required
- Windows 10/11 troubleshooting and deployment
- Windows Server administration
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO
- Microsoft 365 administration
- Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams
- Basic Azure / Entra ID knowledge
- Microsoft Intune experience will be an advantage
- Backup solutions such as Acronis, Synology, Veeam, or similar
- Endpoint security such as Sophos, Microsoft Defender, or similar
- Monitoring tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, or similar will be an advantage
Preferred Experience
- 2-3 years of IT infrastructure or systems support experience
- Experience supporting SME customers or managed services environments
- Able to handle both support and project deployment work
- Willing to work overtime when required for project deployments, maintenance activities, or urgent support issues. Overtime work will be compensated in accordance with company policy.
- Able to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
- Comfortable with onsite customer visits when required
- Good troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn new technologies
Good to Have
- Microsoft 365 / Azure / Intune certification
- Experience with server migration or cloud migration
- Experience with cybersecurity audits, Cyber Essentials, or security hardening
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery testing
- Basic scripting knowledge such as PowerShell
- Interest in cloud, automation, Terraform, Kubernetes, or infrastructure-as-code is a plus
