About the Role
We're looking for a System Operation Support Engineer to provide L2 application and system support for enterprise-level platforms in a government environment. The role involves handling daily operational issues, coordinating scheduled maintenance, and ensuring system stability through proactive monitoring and account management activities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and triage incoming incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution in line with SLA.
Troubleshoot and investigate application issues by analyzing logs, querying databases (SQL), and identifying root causes.
Apply workarounds or fixes where possible (data patching, configuration adjustments), and escalate to development teams when required.
Support scheduled maintenance - coordinate with stakeholders, conduct post-maintenance validation, and confirm service restoration.
Perform daily BAU monitoring of application performance, system availability, and batch job success.
Conduct regular account reviews (OS, Database, Privileged user, Outsystems, GCC 2.0, etc.) to ensure compliance and security hygiene.
Requirements
Technical Skills
Strong troubleshooting and analytical ability with experience in L2/L3 application support.
Familiar with SQL querying, log analysis, and system monitoring tools.
Understanding of application architecture and infrastructure fundamentals.
Background
Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Prior experience in application or system operations support within enterprise environments.
Knowledge of incident management and ITIL practices.
