Job Summary
Responsible for patching and vulnerability management of Windows Server, VMWare ESXi, Linux, and Unix environments to ensure system security and stability.
Responsibilities
- Administer Windows Server (2008/2012/2016/2019) and VMWare ESXi environments to maintain operational efficiency and security
- Manage and deploy Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines to support infrastructure needs
- Perform patch assessments and plan deployment strategies to mitigate vulnerabilities
- Automate pre- and post-patching tasks to improve patch management efficiency
- Troubleshoot operating system and VMWare-related issues to minimize downtime
- Utilize patch management tools such as BigFix and SCCM to execute patching processes
- Monitor and maintain system logs to detect and resolve potential issues proactively
- Manage Active Directory configurations including OU, GPO, forest, and domain settings to support organizational policies
- Apply knowledge of cluster management software and clustering technologies (geo cluster, multinode passive/active) to ensure high availability
- Conduct BIOS and firmware upgrades to maintain hardware performance and security
- Understand and apply RAID technologies (RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5) for data redundancy and performance
- Operate within SLA-driven environments to meet service delivery expectations
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to coordinate system administration tasks
- Adapt to flexible, team-oriented, and dynamic work environments
- Provide on-call support during weekdays and work on weekends as per roster requirements
Required competencies and certifications
- 6+ years of experience in Windows and VMware system administration
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in patch management and vulnerability management
- Strong troubleshooting skills in OS and VMWare environments
- Experience with patch management tools such as BigFix and SCCM
- Ability to work in SLA-driven environments and provide on-call support
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Working experience with RHEL, HP-UX, Solaris, or AIX servers
- Basic knowledge of RAID technologies and cluster management software
