Job Summary

A System Engineer specializing in Kubernetes and Docker Support is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and supporting containerized applications in cloud or on-premise environments. The role focuses on ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of container platforms while supporting development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

. Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters (on-prem / cloud).

. Monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilization.

. Troubleshoot cluster issues (pods, nodes, networking, storage).

. Perform cluster upgrades, patching, and security hardening.

. Build, deploy, and maintain Docker containers and images.

. Optimize Dockerfiles for performance and security.

. Manage container registries (image versioning, tagging, cleanup).

. Troubleshoot container runtime issues.

. Integrate Kubernetes deployments with CI/CD pipelines.

. Automate deployments using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.

. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform/Ansible.

. Implement monitoring using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.

. Work with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

. Perform vulnerability scanning and patch management.

. Provide L2/L3 support for production issues.

. Work closely with DevOps, developers, and QA teams.

. Document architecture, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

. Provide technical guidance and training to team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

. Strong experience with Kubernetes (cluster management, troubleshooting)

. Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization

. Knowledge of Linux system administration

. Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)

. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)

. Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, ingress)

. Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
