About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our Applications (IT) team. This hybrid role combines business analysis with technical leadership, driving the design, development, and implementation of enterprise applications and cloud-based solutions. You will lead initiatives in Microsoft Azure, full-stack web development, Boomi, and low-code platforms such as OutSystems, ensuring solutions align with organisational goals and deliver tangible business value.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering
- Partner with stakeholders to identify, document and analyse business needs, challenges, and pain points.
- Conduct feasibility studies, impact assessments and prepare business cases highlighting benefits, risks and ROI of cloud and web initiatives.
Process Optimisation & Automation
- Map and review existing processes to uncover opportunities for automation and optimisation.
- Recommend and implement improvements using cloud-native or low-code platforms.
- Build strategic reports and dashboards to support management decision-making.
Solution Design & Implementation
- Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Lead the design and development of solutions using Azure services, full-stack technologies (React, Node.js, .NET, etc.) and OutSystems.
- Collaborate with internal developers and external vendors to ensure scalability and technical alignment.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure solutions meet business expectations and security/governance standards.
Change Management & Training
- Develop and execute change management plans for new systems and upgrades.
- Create and deliver technical documentation and end-user training.
- Act as a key point of contact for complex technical queries.
Project & Team Leadership
- Plan and track project milestones, deliverables and resources.
- Lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with stakeholders and provide regular updates to management.
- Champion agile practices, DevOps and continuous improvement in delivery processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in application development, business analysis or technical leadership.
- Hands-on experience with:
Microsoft Azure (App Services, Logic Apps, Azure Functions)
Full-stack web development (HTML/CSS, JavaScript frameworks, backend APIs)
OutSystems or other low-code platforms
Boomi / MuleSoft / middleware integration - Strong understanding of SDLC, agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
