Job Overview
You will be deployed to our client who is a leading government technology agency driving digital transformation and innovation in the healthcare sector. You will undertake complex projects related to systems provisioning, installations, configurations as well as monitoring and maintenance. Apply highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in systems administration and works toward continuous optimization of systems performance. Implements systems improvements and instructs other IT staff in the resolution of complex issues. Required to be on standby with on-call availability with varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. Able to quickly and effectively solve issues as they arise. Able to methodically identify the cause of the issue, evaluate it and develop a solution in collaboration with the team. Communicates effectively and displays high level of service standards.
Responsibilities
Execute Systems Administration Service Levels:
- Monitor systems performance and usage,including response times
- Supervise backups, optimization, initiation ofrecovery procedures and routine troubleshooting
- Communicate regularly with technical,applications and operational staff to ensure systems integrity and security
- Determine the systems short- and long-termrequirements
- Manage systems report production
Advise on System Capabilities:
- Advise senior leaders on system concepts andfunctional capabilities
- Provide technical advice to the team andclients on installation, setup, configuration of systems
- Interpret internal or external business issuesand recommends solutions/best practices
- Implement plans to make systems available tousers in a shared, secure and controlled manner
Develop New Systems:
- Lead the development of new systems as per thesystem requirements
- Design security and integrity controls
- Conduct new systems testing and implementation
- Define the system maintenance procedures
- Analyze the use of new systems to identifyenhancement needs
- Lead research initiatives for the developmentof advanced and automated approaches for system administration
Optimize systems performance:
- Seek opportunities to optimize the delivery ofsystems services with emphasis on availability, reliability, scalability, andsecurity
- Conduct regular system audits and upgrades
- Develop automated processes to define,measure, and report on service quality, stability and capacity
Resolve issues:
- Oversee the assessment of risks to systems
- Identify complex system issues to provideadvisory to the stakeholders
- Investigate cause of systems issues
- Resolve complex issues
- Provide escalation support for issuespresented by the user
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification
- At least 3-4 years of experience in administering and managing Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and Group Policy Management.
- Certification in MSCA/MCSE preferred.
- Strong communications skills with stakeholders at all levels.
- Must be comfortable to do night activities - patches, upgrades, tech refresh and maintenance as well as 24/7 standby (rotational)
- Experience in healthcare applications preferred.
