System Analyst (Functional & Technical)
Job Overview
We are representing a client seeking a System Analyst with both functional and technical capabilities to support and enhance enterprise business applications.
This role plays a critical bridging function between business users, application teams, and the data transformation team, ensuring alignment across system processes, data structures, and transformation initiatives (including ERP transformation). The successful candidate will help translate business needs into system and data requirements, while ensuring seamless execution across applications, integrations, and reporting layers.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Operations
- Provide end-to-end support for enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, WMS, HRMS, and related systems.
- Manage and resolve application incidents, service requests, and system issues within agreed service levels.
- Support user onboarding, offboarding, access control, and application administration.
Functional Analysis & Business Engagement
- Gather, analyse, and document business requirements, workflows, and functional specifications.
- Identify process gaps and improvement opportunities across systems and operations.
- Act as a key liaison between business users and IT teams to ensure alignment of system capabilities with operational needs.
- Support UAT, business validation, and post-go-live stabilisation.
Technical Support & Integration
- Troubleshoot system issues including configurations, integration failures, and data inconsistencies.
- Support integrations across systems (APIs, EDI, file-based interfaces, and workflows).
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and basic analysis using SQL or reporting tools where required.
- Work with vendors and technical teams to resolve issues and improve system stability.
Data & Transformation Collaboration (Key Focus)
- Work closely with the Data team and ERP transformation team to support ongoing transformation initiatives.
- Translate business processes and application logic into data requirements, data flows, and reporting needs.
- Help bridge gaps between application systems and data platforms, ensuring consistency and integrity across systems.
- Support data migration, validation, reconciliation, and testing activities during system transformation.
- Ensure alignment between system changes, data models, and business reporting requirements.
Project Delivery & Enhancements
- Support system implementations, ERP transformation initiatives, enhancements, and rollouts.
- Assist in test planning, execution, defect tracking, and cutover activities.
- Ensure proper documentation, knowledge transfer, and post-implementation support.
Documentation, Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Maintain documentation including SOPs, process flows, technical notes, and user guides.
- Conduct training sessions, system walkthroughs, and user briefings.
- Promote cross-functional knowledge sharing between business, application, and data teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring issues and recommend system or process improvements.
- Drive improvements in system usability, data accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Build strong understanding of end-to-end processes, including system and data dependencies.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in system analysis, application support, or similar roles.
- Experience supporting enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, WMS, or HRMS.
- Strong skills in requirement gathering, process mapping, and documentation.
- Experience in technical troubleshooting and system support.
- Familiarity with system integrations (APIs, EDI, interfaces).
Preferred / Advantageous Skills
- Experience working with data teams, data warehouses, or data transformation initiatives.
- Strong data proficiency (SQL, data validation, reporting, reconciliation).
- Understanding of data flows, data models, and system-to-data integration.
- Exposure to ERP transformation or large-scale system implementation projects.
- Familiarity with Postman, XML, JSON, or API testing tools.
- Experience in user training and stakeholder engagement.
