Job Description

About us

TFS is the Australia arm of Compagnie Financière Tradition - one of the world's largest interdealer brokers, listed on the Swiss stock exchange and operating in more than 30 countries. Our Sydney CBD office runs a lively trading floor where brokers work the phones to facilitate the operations of global markets. When something on the floor breaks - a turret, market-data feed, application or a PC - there is a broker on the other side of it with a client on the line. This is a demanding yet rewarding role that sits inside that reality.

About the role

You will be the on-floor IT operations engineer for our Sydney dealing room. Your day-to-day covers the PC, laptops, M365 environment and application and tools used, the LAN the floor runs on, and critically the voice dealing platform that the brokers trade over. If a broker's turret goes silent, you go to the desk. If a switch port drops, you fix it. If a new starter needs to be live at 8am Monday and you are being told about it on Friday morning, they will be. You will work in-sync with the IT Operations manager in Sydney and alongside our regional IT teams on changes, releases and projects. This role gives you an opportunity to use a broader tech stack than a typical corporate IT role - covering LAN switching, SIP and voice, endpoint management, identity, cloud, trading applications and more.

No prior voice-dealing experience is required. If you have it, great. If you are curious to learn it, this role will take you somewhere very few graduate-level IT roles can.

What you'll do
  • Administer and support the voice dealing platform: configuration, moves/adds/changes, incident resolution, working with vendors and our regional voice team, covering offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Wellington and remote/hybrid workers.
  • Keep the trading floors operational: turrets, headsets, workstations, monitors, market-data feeds, dealing applications, and the LAN / SIP infrastructure they depend on.
  • Collaborate with regional IT teams on changes, releases and small projects across LAN, endpoint, cloud and identity.
  • Own end-user support for M365, Windows and mobile devices: provisioning, imaging, onboarding new starters, asset and lifecycle management.
  • Log, triage and resolve incidents and requests: from our ITSM service desk tool- promptly log, resolve and escalate incidents and requests.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software, licenses and vendors.
What we're looking forRequired
  • Self-starter mindset. You are comfortable working without a defined runbook. You figure it out first and ask for help second. You do not wait for permission to solve the obvious problem.
  • Direct, plain-English communicator. You can talk to a broker mid-trade without waffle and can write a KB article a non-technical user can follow. You stay calm when the person in front of you is not.
  • Service mindset, no ego. You will happily walk over to a desk rather than reply to a ticket. You do not consider basic support beneath you and you do not cut corners.
  • Solid PC support and troubleshooting across Windows, Microsoft 365 and common business applications.
  • Working knowledge of LAN and Wi-Fi fundamentals. VLANs, DHCP, DNS, basic switch configuration.
  • Familiarity with IT service management workflows (incidents, requests, changes) and ticketing tools.
  • 1–2 years of experience in IT support or IT operations, or a recent IT / Computer Science graduate with genuine hands-on experience (internships, lab projects, home lab, certifications).
  • Demonstrable technical expertise. A tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, engineering or a technical diploma, vendor certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, cloud fundamentals), or a self-taught/home-lab trackTechnology is binary - systems either work or they do not. We weigh what you can demonstrate and do more heavily than what your paperwork says.
  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent technical diploma / vendor-fundamentals certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+/Network+, or comparable entry-level cloud or networking certs).
  • Fully on-site in our Sydney CBD office. Occasional out-of-hours work for changes and critical incidents, with time-in-lieu per policy
Advantageous (not required)
  • Any exposure to SIP-based telephony, voice dealing platforms, or enterprise UC / contact-centre systems.
  • Experience with enterprise identity / directory services (Entra ID, Active Directory) and endpoint-management tooling (Intune, Endpoint Central or similar).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
  • Prior experience in financial services, trading floors, or any 24/5 or 24/7 operational environment.
