About Our Client
Our client is a global financial institution with an established presence in Singapore and across Asia. As part of its continued investment in its corporate banking and risk capabilities, the organisation is looking to appoint an SVP / Director, Senior Credit Officer based in Singapore.
This is a senior second line credit role offering broad exposure across large and mid-sized corporates and multiple industry sectors. The successful candidate will have meaningful credit decisioning responsibilities and the opportunity to work closely with senior business and risk stakeholders within an international banking platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide independent credit assessment, challenge and approval across large and mid-sized corporate exposures
• Exercise delegated credit authority and make recommendations on transactions requiring higher-level approval
• Assess complex lending proposals, transaction structures and portfolio risks across a broad range of sectors
• Partner with Corporate Banking and product teams while maintaining independent second line credit oversight
• Evaluate borrower fundamentals, industry dynamics, transaction structures and downside risks
• Provide senior credit judgement across new transactions, renewals, amendments and complex credit situations
• Monitor portfolio quality, emerging risks and sector developments within the Singapore market
• Contribute to credit governance, portfolio management and the continued strengthening of the credit risk framework
Requirements
• 12–15+ years of relevant corporate credit risk experience within banking or financial services
• Strong experience in a second line credit officer or credit approver capacity with direct credit decisioning responsibilities
• Deep credit experience covering large corporates and/or mid-sized corporate clients
• Strong knowledge of the Singapore corporate market across multiple industry sectors
• Proven ability to assess complex corporate lending transactions and exercise sound, independent credit judgement
• Good understanding of corporate lending products, structures and associated risk considerations
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage and constructively challenge senior stakeholders
• Experience within a global or international financial institution would be advantageous
