This role balances day-to-day issue resolution with continuous improvement, design updates, and cross-functional leadership, while managing a team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team, setting priorities and driving best practices
- Own ECN/ECO, configuration control, and documentation within PLM/ERP systems
- Resolve field and production issues using structured root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys)
- Manage component lifecycle (EOL/PCN), second sourcing, and cost optimization
- Drive product reliability improvements (DFMEA/PFMEA, MTBF) and validation activities
- Support manufacturing on yield improvement, test strategy (DFT), and process control
- Oversee design updates, schematic/PCB reviews, and ensure documentation accuracy
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards (IEC/UL, EMC)
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on quality and technical solutions
- Track KPIs (failure rates, cost savings, change cycle time) and report to stakeholders
Ideal Requirements
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
- 10+ years in power electronics, product engineering, or sustaining roles
- 2-4 years of team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of AC-DC/DC-DC power supply design and fundamentals
- Experience with ECN/ECO, PLM (e.g., Agile/Arena), and ERP (e.g., SAP)
- Hands-on with failure analysis, validation, and reliability engineering
- Familiar with IEC/UL safety and EMC standards
- Proficient in FMEA, 8D, DOE, and statistical analysis
- Experience with ECAD tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD) and simulation tools preferred
