Tasks
The
Surplus Trading Manageris responsible for:
- Monitor the surplus market to identify new material sources and customers
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to support regional growth
- Manage and develop relationships with vendors, customers, & existing partners
- Oversee sourcing & sales channels to minimize costs & maximize revenues
- Forecast, track, and achieve surplus purchasing and sales targets
- Purchase aircraft, manage component teardown, and handle teardown projects in Asia Pacific
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to secure required assets
- Evaluate surplus material packages & prepare reports for management
- Participate in cross-regional meetings to align activities & share market insights
- Identify and implement internal process improvements to achieve business objectives
- Perform all other duties assigned or delegated by supervisors
Requirements
The ideal
Surplus Trading Manager should meet the following requirements:
- University degree in Aviation, Engineering, Business, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in engineering, technical purchasing, or aviation MRO; surplus components experience is a plus
- Ability to review repair certificates, traceability, and engineering data
- Excellent English; Asian language or German is an advantage
- Proficient in MS Office; SAP knowledge preferred
- Strong intercultural competence and customer-oriented mindset
- Self-driven, able to work independently, manage projects, and solve complex challenges
- Professional representation of Lufthansa Technik and willingness to travel internationally (Germany, USA, Asia Pacific)
- Must possess a legal work permit in Singapore
