Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Automation Equipment Technician to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot our automated systems and hardware. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring continuous operational efficiency by performing preventive maintenance, resolving hardware and system errors, leading new equipment deployments, and conducting technical training for end-users.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Hardware Maintenance: Provide hands-on technical support for all automation hardware, sensors, controllers, and mechanical components.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware failures, electrical faults, and system software errors to minimize operational downtime.
- Deployment & Testing: Assist in hardware deployment for new automation projects, including assembly, wiring, system calibration, and testing before final commissioning.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance routines, component calibrations, and periodic system health checks.
- User Training & Documentation: Train end-users and operators on standard operating procedures, routine safety checks, and basic system troubleshooting. Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and hardware issues.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Diploma or Nitec/Higher Nitec (ITE) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in technical support, equipment maintenance, or automation systems preferred. Fresh graduates with relevant project/internship experience are welcome to apply.
Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and mechatronic systems (e.g., PLCs, sensors, pneumatic systems, motors).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency using basic hand tools, multimeters, and diagnostic instruments.
