Overview
Our client is an international financial institution operating within the global markets space, supporting front-office trading activities across FX products. The team in Singapore works closely with regional and global counterparts in an Agile setup, providing direct support to traders and sales teams. This role sits within a business-facing technology function responsible for maintaining the stability and reliability of a key FX trading platform.
Role
This position focuses on application support for an FX trading system used by front-office users, including traders and sales. The successful candidate will handle real-time issues such as trade booking failures, pricing discrepancies, and trade lifecycle queries, working directly with business users to resolve incidents. The role involves analysing system logs and database records, constructing SQL queries for investigation, and identifying root causes of issues rather than applying temporary fixes. In addition to incident management, the team supports system configuration, certificate and keystore management, and participates in integration work with external vendors and internal development teams. The environment follows an Agile model where development and support responsibilities may overlap, though the role remains primarily focused on application support rather than infrastructure engineering.
Requirements
Candidates should have experience in application or production support within financial services, specifically supporting FX trading environments and front-office users. A strong understanding of FX products, pricing, and trade lifecycle is required. The ability to write basic SQL queries and interpret system behaviour is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a clear understanding of incident analysis, including explaining root causes and resolution approaches. A working knowledge of technical concepts such as certificates, system configurations, and log analysis is expected, alongside the ability to independently research and resolve issues. Strong communication skills are required to interact with traders and sales users effectively.
