Job Description

We're searching for a Specialist/Senior Specialist to be part of our Supply Chain diverse team of talent. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating production activities to meet daily and monthly manufacturing goals.

What you will be working on:

  • To manage, negotiate and measure performance of indirect material suppliers
  • To manage given commodities to achieve annual cost reduction goals and Department KPIs
  • To manage and drive new project initiatives and new qualifications
  • To co-work and collaborate with Parent companies on common interest
  • To co-work with modules on projects to meet company goals
  • To develop and maintain a robust Business Continuity Plan with all material suppliers
  • Responsible for indirect material purchases in areas of Chemical, Gas, Resist, Slurry, CMP Pad/Disk, Quartz, Targets, Facility and Laboratory chemicals
  • Responsible to follow and comply all procedures, both internal and external requirements
  • Develop purchasing strategies on each commodity to meet IDM annual cost reduction goals, supply assurance and continuity plans
  • Responsible to present and recommend to Management on any matters related to the commodity
  • Co-develop alternative suppliers or projects with modules to:-
  • Lower Cost of Ownership or prices
  • Balance demand/supply dynamic
  • Co-work with Quality and Module on Global sourcing:
  • On-site audit
  • Select the best supplier on lowest cost of ownership for qualification
  • Establish, gather and access market intelligence via reports, and commodity research
  • Establish cost benchmarking database on various commodities for strategic decision making
  • Establish business relationship with all suppliers
  • Establish, review suitability and develop new suppliers for new materials qualification
  • Vendor profiling
  • Global supply position
  • Develop strategies to overcome demand/supply shortfall
  • Increase inventory
  • Local stocking
  • Re-allocation
  • Develop global sourcing strategies and tactical execution on material evaluation
  • Develop and manage inventory to meet company business objectives
  • Weekly review on inventory level and specific material requirements with TGCM and BO
  • Review strategic allocation with modules to optimize cost
  • Review with module on projects, qualifications, and potential material expiry
  • Ensure on-time material supply for wafer starts
  • Ensure no material shortages or obsolesces on any material
  • Review settings and execute MRP to ensure sufficient inventory for production
  • Ensure zero supply chain interruptions on all materials to the fab
  • Responsible to lead, present projects and recommend contract renewals to Management
  • Review and approve of Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders
  • Initiate productivity projects and co-work with IT to develop and maintain e-Supplier Portal as an interface with suppliers for documentation management
  • Business Continuity Management (BCM)
  • Ensure all SOP, RA, BIA are updated annually
  • Lead department as BCM coordinator
  • Develop a system to manage supply chain information
  • Vendor address, material supply, contact person etc
  • Maintain and ensure all materials have-
  • i) back up source ii) alternative ) sufficient inventory to mitigate risk (stocking policy)
  • Co-work with company representatives to strengthen and improve company level BCM
  • Facility and Laboratory support on material requirement
  • Review market prices and allocation to various suppliers
  • Ensure raw material price indexing is adhered for Facility chemicals
  • Ensure timely contract renewal at quarterly or half yearly period
  • Understanding global demands on common raw materials
  • Source for alternative suppliers to lower cost of ownership


More About You:

  • Degree in Engineering / Science
  • Preferably 1-2 years purchasing experience
  • Preferably 5 years purchasing experience in a frontend semiconductor plant for Senior Position
  • Fab Operations experience is a bonus
  • Possess Integrity and takes initiative
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Highly flexible and adaptive to fast past environment
  • Strong understanding of SAP system
  • Conversant in both English and Mandarin
  • Knowledge of Semiconductor Processes
  • Able to analyze financial reports
  • Ability to manage tight project schedules
  • Analytical and possess strong understanding of global market knowledge
