Job Summary
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating production, materials, and inventory to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures that customer demand is met while maintaining optimal inventory levels and supporting production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Demand & Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain production plans based on customer demand forecasts.
- Coordinate with sales, procurement, and manufacturing teams to align production capacity with demand.
- Monitor demand changes and adjust production schedules accordingly.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Material Planning:
- Maintain BOM timely and accurately into ERP.
- Material status review, coordinate with procurement to secure material supply as per production and shipment plan.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components for production.
- Work with procurement to place purchase requisitions based on production plans
- Monitor supplier lead times and delivery performance.
Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Analyze inventory trends and implement improvement actions.
- Manage safety stock levels and reorder points.
Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with internal departments including procurement, logistics, warehouse, and production.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Track key supply chain metrics including forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service level, and production adherence.
- Prepare planning reports and dashboards for management.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
- 2-5 years experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or materials planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of ERP system
- Able to read engineering bill of material (BOM) and mechanical drawings is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Understanding of manufacturing processes
- Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
