Position Summary
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing supplier quality activities
that directly support daily manufacturing operations and production continuity. The SQE
focuses on operational execution by driving rapid issue resolution, managing supplier
nonconformances, and ensuring uninterrupted production.
The SQE serves as the primary liaison between manufacturing sites, suppliers, and cross
functional teams to contain quality issues, resolve supplier-related production disruptions,
manage corrective actions, and monitor supplier performance. This role requires strong
problem-solving skills, urgency, and collaboration to minimize production risk while
ensuring suppliers meet Ichor's quality and delivery expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Factory Support
. Support manufacturing sites with supplier-related production quality issues.
. Provide rapid response to supplier quality concerns impacting production.
. Coordinate containment activities to minimize production disruptions.
. Serve as the primary supplier quality contact for factory operations.
Nonconformance Management
. Manage supplier nonconformances from identification through closure.
. Coordinate containment activities with suppliers and manufacturing sites.
. Ensure timely communication of supplier quality notifications.
. Verify disposition of supplier-related nonconforming material.
MRB / RTV Support
. Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities related to supplier issues.
. Manage supplier rework and sorting activities.
. Support disposition decisions for supplier-related nonconforming material.
Supplier Corrective Action Management
. Issue and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
. Review supplier root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
. Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
. Drive timely SCAR closure while ensuring sustainable corrective actions.
Supplier Performance Monitoring
. Monitor supplier quality performance using key performance indicators.
. Manage DPPM performance and supplier quality metrics.
. Maintain supplier scorecards and communicate performance trends.
. Escalate chronic supplier performance issues and recommend improvement
actions.
Daily Supplier Issue Resolution
. Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related production issues.
. Expedite supplier support for quality-related production shortages.
. Drive timely resolution of supplier quality disruptions.
. Collaborate with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Planning, and Supplier
Development teams to restore production.
Minimum Qualifications
. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical
discipline.
. 3-5 years of supplier quality, manufacturing quality, quality engineering, or
operations experience.
. Experience managing supplier quality issues in a manufacturing environment.
. Strong understanding of quality systems, corrective action methodologies, and
nonconformance management.
. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
. Ability to travel domestic and international (10-25%).
Preferred Qualifications
. Experience supporting semiconductor, precision machining, electronics
manufacturing, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
. Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, SCAR, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and
SPC.
. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
. Experience with supplier performance management, DPPM reporting, and quality
metrics.
. Experience working with ERP and Quality Management Systems (Oracle preferred).
