Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Functional Design
Lead functional discovery workshops with client business and IT stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate requirements across core banking domains including deposits, loans, payments, and treasury.
Produce high-quality functional artefacts including Business Requirements Documents, Functional Design Documents, process flow diagrams, and configuration workbooks.
Translate business requirements into Sunline platform functional specifications, mapping client needs to SunLTTS, SunCBS, and related module capabilities.
Define and document business rules for product configuration, interest/fee calculations, account lifecycle management, and transaction processing.
System Configuration & Testing
Lead or oversee functional configuration of Sunline core banking modules, including deposits, lending, cash management, and payment processing.
Develop and execute functional test strategies including System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring coverage of end-to-end business scenarios.
Manage and resolve functional defects, working closely with technical teams to triage issues and drive resolution within project timelines.
Support data migration activities — validating business rules for data mapping, cleansing criteria, and migration reconciliation.
Stakeholder Management & Delivery
Act as the primary functional point of contact for client business owners, managing expectations, facilitating sign-offs, and escalating risks appropriately.
Lead and manage a team of functional analysts across one or more workstreams, providing guidance, quality assurance, and performance feedback.
Contribute to project governance — including status reporting, RAID log management, and participation in steering committee meetings.
Support change management activities including training material development and end-user readiness assessment.
Mentor and develop junior analysts, sharing domain expertise and fostering a high-performance delivery culture.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Prior exposure to Sunline (SunLTTS / SunCBS) corebanking is strongly preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience in core banking implementation, with at least 3 years in a lead functional BA or functional lead capacity.
Demonstrable experience on at least one full end-to-end core banking implementation lifecycle — from requirements through to go-live and post-production support.
Deep functional knowledge across one or more core banking domains: retail deposits, consumer/SME lending, payments and clearing, or transaction banking.
Strong understanding of banking regulations and operations relevant to the Southeast Asia market.
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage confidently at senior business and IT leadership levels.
Proficiency in producing structured, professional functional documentation (BRDs, FDDs, process maps, use cases).
Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to Sunline's distributed / microservices-based architecture and understanding of how functional configuration maps to the underlying platform.
Experience with digital banking products, open finance, or API-driven banking channels.
Familiarity with IFRS 9, Basel III provisioning requirements, or regulatory reporting frameworks for banks.
Prior experience working on core banking modernisation or legacy migration programmes.
Relevant professional certifications in banking (e.g. CGEIT, CBAP) or financial services (e.g. IBF-STS accredited programmes).
