Become an integral part of our team at Connexions Integrated Learning Centre and contribute positively to the lives of young children age 7-12 with diverse learning needs.
Our student care centre provides a structured and supportive environment that supports the learning and developmental needs of children. We are seeking a dedicated student care mentor who is passionate about working with children with diverse learning needs and committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing student care environment. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the centre, support the holistic development and well-being of our students, and lead the implementation of structured programmes and activities, while experiencing a fulfilling and rewarding journey through the execution of the following tasks.
Key Requirements
- Provide attentive supervision to learners and always prioritizing their safety and overall welfare.
- Design and lead homework assistance, therapeutic and training activities and that are tailored to meet the individual needs and goals of our learners
- Develop and manage an inventory of training materials, ensuring that they are up-to-date and readily available.
- Uphold high cleanliness and safety standards within the centre, creating a comfortable and secure environment for everyone.
- Demonstrate utmost respect for our learner's confidentiality, maintaining their privacy at all times.
- Foster and maintain a strong connection with their families.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the children's attendance, progress, and any incidents.
- Develop, implement, and reinforce intervention plans, maintain records, and manage training programmes and other administrative tasks to assess students readiness for progression.
Requirements
- Demonstrates compassion, patience, and empathy when working with individuals with diverse learning needs.
- Experience working with children in a student care or educational setting will be advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and their families.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues
Working hours
- During normal school term: 11am to 7pm (Mon to Fri)
- During school holidays: 8-hours shift between 7.30am to 7pm (Mon to Fri)
