Job purpose:
As an intern, you will support the Structuring, Trading and Sales teams and gain exposure to both the operational and strategic aspects of the desk's activities, as well as its global mandate.
The Structured Solutions Trading, Structuring and Sales team covers the full range of credit-related products and provides asset and liability management solutions to internal and external clients. This includes yield enhancement solutions, risk management strategies, financing structures and balance sheet optimization.
Key activities:
- Provide day-to-day support to traders and senior staff, including basic pricing checks, trade booking support and preparation of simple reports or summaries.
- Assist in gathering, cleaning and analysing market data, credit spreads and macroeconomic information relevant to the desk's activities.
- Help prepare and update Excel tools, presentations and other materials used for trade ideas, client discussions and internal reporting.
- Proactively work on improving your technical and product knowledge through self-study and on-the-job learning, and actively participate in team meetings and discussions.
- Provide ad-hoc support on projects and ensure adherence at all times to relevant regulatory, conduct and compliance requirements, as well as internal policies and procedures.
Formal education:
- University Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related field.
Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):
- Strong interest in financial markets, credit products and structured solutions
- Good analytical and quantitative skills solid knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Accurate, reliable and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Notion of financial and pricing theory will be an advantage
- Ability to handle fast-paced environments
- Team player, with good communication skills and willingness to ask questions and take initiative
- Very good spoken and written English
