Job Responsibilities:
Project Analysis: Review structural drawings, specifications, and designs to understand materials, steel grades, connections, and fabrication methods.
Quantity Take-Off (QTO): Accurately measure steel sections, plates, bolts, and fittings, including wastage allowances.
Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare detailed BOQs, cost estimates, and project budgets covering fabrication, transport, erection, labor, and overheads.
Tendering & Contracts: Evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotes, negotiate rates, manage variations, and ensure contracts comply with project scope.
Cost Control: Track actual vs. estimated costs, manage progress claims, approve payments, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
QA/QC Coordination: Work with QA/QC teams to verify materials and fabrication meet specifications, accounting for rework or non-conformance in costs.
Risk & Change Management: Identify financial, material, or schedule risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records, prepare cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts for management decision-making.
Skills & Tools:
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
Expertise in quantity measurement, cost estimation, and contract management
Coordination with QA/QC, design, and project management teams
Proficiency with AutoCAD, CostX, Bluebeam, Excel, and project management software
Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong communication and negotiation skills
