Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Naval Architecture or Structural Engineering.
- Proven track record in offshore structural engineering for oil & gas facilities (FPSO, semi-submersibles, fixed platforms, topsides).
- Strong familiarity with international offshore standards and codes (API RP-2A, ISO 19901, DNV, ABS, etc.).
- Fluent in English (spoken and written). Ability to communicate in Mandarin is highly desirable, to support collaboration with design centers, shipyards, and vendors in China.
- Prior experience working with Middle East clients or projects (e.g., ADNOC, Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, KOC) will be considered a strong advantage.
Structural Engineer
- Expertise in structural engineering, analysis, and design for offshore oil platforms, FPSOs, and semi-submersibles.
- Proficient in SACS and AutoCAD for structural modeling, analysis, and detail design.
- Hands-on experience in structural integrity assessment, fatigue analysis, in-place, transportation, and installation analysis for offshore structures.
Geotechnical & Foundation Engineer
- Strong foundation in geotechnical and foundation engineering for offshore platforms (jackets, topsides, subsea foundations, piles, suction caissons, etc.).
- Skilled in GRLWEAP, SACS, and AutoCAD, with experience in pile drivability, bearing capacity analysis, and foundation design.
- Knowledge of soil-structure interaction, settlement analysis, and geohazard assessment in offshore conditions.
Requirements
- Highly prefer candidates with structural design and offshore engineering experience, with leadership responsibility on large-scale EPC or FEED projects.
- Minimum 10 years of offshore oil & gas engineering experience, with hands-on design and analysis exposure.
- Prior exposure to international EPC contractors, shipyards, or joint venture projects is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural/geotechnical discipline scope within offshore projects, acting as focal point for communication, design coordination, and technical leadership.
- Define, review, and validate the scope of work, design basis, and technical requirements for assigned packages.
- Participate in technical clarifications with clients and vendors, and prepare proposals, reports, and presentations.
- Carry out and supervise design, review, and approval of structural/geotechnical deliverables, ensuring compliance with client standards and international codes.
- Review and respond to client comments, ensuring proper closure and maintaining alignment with project execution strategy.
- Provide technical input and review for material procurement:
Preparation of discipline-specific requisitions and specifications.
Vendor document reviews and bid clarifications.
FAT/inspection support and technical evaluation of suppliers.
- Lead and review structural calculations (global strength, fatigue, ultimate strength, foundation capacity, etc.) and prepare discipline reports.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and construction, including site visits, troubleshooting, and method statement reviews.
- Ensure HSE compliance and quality standards are embedded in all deliverables and construction support.
- Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and ensure knowledge transfer within the discipline team.
- Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Discipline Manager to meet project objectives.
