Job Description

The Opportunity:

Adecco is partnering with an established global manufacturing organisation to identify a Strategic Sourcing Engineer to support end-to-end sourcing activities across new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining programs. You will work closely with design, manufacturing and global suppliers on sourcing for both mechanical and electrical components, driving cost optimisation, supplier development and manufacturing readiness.

The Job:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers to review designs, specifications and tolerances, ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency and on-time delivery
  • Manage RFQ activities and supplier selection across prototype, first build and production phases
  • Identify, assess and onboard new suppliers across commodities such as machining, sheet metal, cable & harness, PCBA and contract manufacturing
  • Evaluate alternate materials, fabrication methods and suppliers to support cost reduction and risk mitigation initiatives
  • Work closely with suppliers on technical queries, resolving manufacturing issues and supporting design changes (ECO/CN) where required
  • Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits and performance reviews to ensure quality, delivery and cost expectations are met
  • Support first article builds and qualification processes, ensuring smooth transition from development to production
  • Review BOM and engineering documentation to identify cost avoidance and global sourcing opportunities
  • Partner with global stakeholders to support project transfers, supplier development and supply continuity initiatives


The Talent:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Prior experience in sourcing or procurement within a manufacturing environment, ideally supporting NPI or project-based work
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication or electromechanical assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Exposure to supplier qualification, audits and cost reduction initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across engineering, operations and suppliers
  • Experience with ERP/PLM systems (e.g. SAP, Windchill, Creo, AutoCAD) is advantageous
