Role Summary
The Strategic Finance Associate will work closely with senior leadership to support high-impact strategic, financial, and commercial decisions. This role sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and execution, with exposure to M&A, capital raising, long-range planning, and performance analytics.
The ideal candidate combines strong financial modelling skills with commercial judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Commercial Analysis
- Support development of long-term financial plans
- Conduct market, competitive, and industry analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and investment cases
FP&A & Financial Modelling
- Support group-wide FP&A and reporting (internal and external)
- Build and maintain detailed financial models
Capital & Transaction Support
- Assist with M&A, fundraising, debt financing, and investor materials
- Support transaction execution including VDR preparation, Q&A, and advisor coordination
- Work with external advisors (banks, lawyers, accountants)
Performance & Insights
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting to track business performance
- Analyze variances, unit economics, and key value drivers
- Translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations
Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare board presentations, investor updates, and internal decision memos
- Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Work cross-functionally with leadership, operations, sales, and product teams
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 36 years experience in investment banking, corporate finance, strategy consulting, private equity, or strategic finance
- Strong financial modelling and valuation skills
- Advanced Excel skills; PowerPoint proficiency essential
- Solid understanding of accounting, cash flow, and corporate finance principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
