Job Description
The day-to-day responsibilities of the Strategic Communications Consultant include and not limited to:
1.BRANDING & COMMUNICATIONS
. Develop and drive integrated marketing communications programmes to deliver key messages through physical and digital channels.
. Maintain brand integrity of the organization across all communications mediums.
2.EDITORIAL CONTENT
. Develop media engagement strategy for municipal success communications.
. Develop and manage corporate collaterals such as (but not limited to) newsletters, publications, and publicity posters.
. Collate and coordinate content from various sources to localize content and language.
. Participate and provide strategic advice for publications and associated content.
. Work with external vendors on content for municipal success videos.
3.DIGITAL MARKETING
. Develop, implement and manage social media content strategy and campaigns.
. Increase and improve the quality of online/social media presence and marketing efforts.
. Generate, design, and publish content that builds meaningful connections and encourages engagement.
. Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies.
4.PRESS AND MEDIA MANAGEMENT
. Anchor and maintaining strong relationships with the media.
. Manage Chairman and Vice-Chairman's media appearances, such as doorstops and other press briefings for constituency events.
. Prepare speaking points, fact checks, location selections, staging, photography planning, audio and video recordings, transcribing, circulation of reports, follow-ups with media and review of such events.
. Develop media materials, speeches, interview responses for spokespersons.
. Conduct media pitching, onsite media management and engagement.
5.PUBLIC AFFAIRS
. Maintaining clear two-way communications, and positive relations with relevant official bodies and stakeholders.
. Manage, build and strengthen relations with multiple government agencies and other organisations.
REQUIREMENTS
. Excellent writing skills and ability to deliver creative web content (text, image and video)
. Proficient in English, an advantage if you are bilingual in English and Chinese
. Good understanding of Social Media KPIs, SEO and web traffic metrics
. Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok and other social media best practices
. Experienced in using tools such as Google Adwords/Analytics, WordPress
. Proficiency in designing tools such as Adobe CS will be an advantage
. Photography and videography skills are an advantage
. Experience in corporate communications and media management is preferred
. Bachelor's degree with 5 to 7 years of relevant experience
. Good team player who is able to work effectively at all levels of an organisation, with the ability to contribute constructive and practical ideas
