Key Responsibilities
1. Parallel Filesystem Management
- Provision and manage project/home directory quotas
- Execute snapshot creation and restore operations
- Conduct data integrity scans and filesystem scrubbing
- Monitor capacity thresholds and watermark alerts
- Perform scheduled failover drills and validation exercises
- Capture and maintain integrity/performance baseline reports
- Apply OEM advisories and remedial actions per runbook
2. HSM / Data Management Operations
- Manage data tiering and archival policies
- Perform recall and restore validation tests
- Monitor media lifecycle and retention compliance
- Conduct integrity scans and namespace housekeeping
- Triage and resolve stuck recall operations
- Maintain recall/restore audit evidence
3. Capacity & Performance Management
- Produce monthly storage performance baselines
- Conduct I/O spot checks and performance analysis
- Monitor storage SLIs and utilisation trends
- Perform capacity forecasting and risk reporting
- Publish capacity and threshold reports to management
4. Compliance, Security & Audit Support
- Maintain data integrity logs and remediation records
- Compile audit-ready evidence packs
- Ensure vulnerability remediation for storage systems
- Coordinate OEM/vendor escalations and TAC cases
- Maintain configuration backups and change records

- Large-scale HPC storage environment
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience managing Parallel Filesystems such as Lustre, GPFS or equivalent
- Hands-on experience in:
- Large-scale storage environments (Petabyte scale preferred)
- Backup and HSM workflows
- Storage capacity planning and forecasting
- Data integrity and performance monitoring
- OEM coordination and escalation handling
