About the Role
Our client is a reputable A1 Main Contractor with an established track record in delivering large-scale building and infrastructure projects across Singapore. They are seeking a Steel & Structural Engineer to support the planning, coordination and execution of structural steel works while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. The role involves close collaboration with consultants, subcontractors and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise structural steel works from design development through construction and project completion.
- Review structural drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with consultants, architects, clients, subcontractors and suppliers on technical matters and resolve engineering issues.
- Coordinate steel fabrication, delivery and on-site erection activities according to the project schedule.
- Conduct structural inspections and ensure all works comply with relevant codes, specifications and quality standards.
- Review method statements, risk assessments and work procedures prior to site execution.
- Monitor construction progress and provide technical support to the project and site teams.
- Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Procurement and Project Managers on material requirements and project deliverables.
- Assist with design coordination, value engineering and constructability reviews where required.
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations and company safety policies.
- Prepare engineering reports, progress updates, RFIs, technical documentation and project records.
- Attend site meetings, coordination meetings and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in structural steel or building construction projects.
- Experience working with a Main Contractor is preferred.
- Good knowledge of structural steel construction, fabrication and erection methodologies.
- Familiar with Singapore building regulations, Eurocodes and BCA requirements.
- Able to interpret structural drawings and engineering calculations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD knowledge of Tekla, STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP2000 or Revit will be an advantage.
- Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced construction environment.
