STEEL AND METAL WORKS WELDER

Job Description

• Prepare and set up welding tools, equipment, and steel materials for fabrication tasks

• Perform welding on steel structures, beams, columns, and metal plates according to drawings and specifications

• Maintain a safe and secure work environment by following standard welding procedures and company safety rules

• Report fabrication or alignment issues and assist in resolving them with supervisors and engineers

• Ensure high-quality welds that meet structural integrity and inspection standards

• Safely handle and maintain welding machines, gas cylinders, and cutting tools

• Keep the workplace tidy, organized, and free of hazards

• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor, including assisting in steel assembly and fitting works

• Inspect and maintain welding equipment regularly to ensure safe operation

• Document any safety incidents or hazards observed during operations

Requirements

• Skilled in gas cutting, PP welding, metal arc welding, and orbital welding

• Proficient in 3G, 4G, 5G & 6G welding techniques, especially for steel structure joints

• Ability to follow standard welding SOPs and structural fabrication drawings

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in steel structure or heavy fabrication welding

• Welding certification (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) is an advantage

• Physically fit to carry out heavy lifting, climbing, and prolonged standing

• Strong safety awareness and ability to work at heights (scaffolding/steel platforms)

• Capable of completing tasks within deadlines and under site conditions
