Job Description

The Company

Our client is a SGX Mainboard Listed company in the manufacturing space with a solid regional presence in SEA. As part of their long term growth and planning, they are seeking a Group Financial Controller/CFO to join their dynamic team.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO and Executive Chairman while leading finance transformation across a complex, multi-entity manufacturing environment.

As the Group Financial Controller / CFO, you will be the most senior finance executive within the organisation, working closely with the Group CEO, Executive Chairman, Board of Directors, and Audit & Risk Committee. This is a highly visible leadership role where you will lead the finance function, strengthen financial governance, drive operational improvements, and play a critical role in enhancing business performance and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and take full accountability for the Group finance function across Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Act as the principal finance advisor to the CEO, Executive Chairman and Board.
  • Partner with business leaders to improve financial visibility, performance and decision-making.
  • Assess, develop and enhance the capabilities and structure of the finance organisation.

Group Financial Reporting & Governance

  • Oversee Group consolidation across entities in Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Ensure timely, accurate and reliable monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting.
  • Lead SGX reporting, statutory reporting, management reporting and Board reporting requirements.
  • Maintain a strong control environment and ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and lead the annual audit process.

Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Drive improvements in financial reporting accuracy, efficiency and month-end close processes.
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives, including ERP and systems implementation.
  • Streamline manual processes and improve financial controls across the organisation.
  • Develop scalable processes, reporting frameworks and performance dashboards.

Manufacturing Finance & Operations

  • Improve manufacturing costing methodologies and strengthen inventory controls.
  • Enhance visibility over product profitability, margins and operational performance.
  • Drive improvements in working capital, cash flow forecasting and financial planning.
  • Work closely with operational and manufacturing teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a finance team across Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Build a high-performing finance function capable of supporting future growth.
  • Recruit, develop and retain key talent while strengthening overall team capability.

Your Profile

As the successful candidate, you will possess the following relevant skills sets and experience

  • Degree-qualified in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with a recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Foundation gained within Big 4 or reputable mid-tier external audit firms.
  • Proven experience as a Group Financial Controller, Finance Director or CFO within a small or medium sized organization
  • Strong experience in Group consolidation, audit management and financial reporting.
  • Hands-on SGX-listed company reporting experience.
  • Experience presenting to and working with Boards, Audit Committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Manufacturing industry experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated success leading ERP implementations, finance transformation or systems enhancement projects.
