The Company
Our client is a leading ship management organisation with strong regional operations across Asia. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Regional Controller to partner the business and drive financial performance across the region.
The Role
Reporting to the GM Finance, you will lead a team of vessel controllers and act as a strategic finance partner to regional leadership. You will play a key role in driving performance, supporting profitable growth, and strengthening financial governance across the business.
Business Partnering & Strategic Finance
. Offer forward-looking, insight-led analysis of regional and customer financial performance
. Serve as a trusted finance advisor to regional leadership on commercial and operational decisions
. Work closely with operations and commercial teams to integrate finance into business decision-making
. Provide clear, actionable insights on regional performance against targets
Commercial & Performance Management
. Evaluate customer and business profitability, with a focus on pricing and cost levers
. Contribute to pricing decisions, contract discussions, and commercial structuring
. Offer financial perspective and constructive challenge on strategic and operational matters
. Establish performance benchmarks to uncover margin improvement opportunities
Planning & Analysis
. Lead the regional budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecast cycle
. Strengthen consistency and reliability across financial planning processes
. Champion the use of data and digital tools to improve insight and decision support
Risk, Controls & Governance
. Maintain robust financial controls, governance standards, and risk management practices
. Proactively assess financial and commercial risks and work with stakeholders on mitigation plans
. Drive ongoing improvements in reporting quality, processes, and service delivery
Leadership
. Manage and develop a regional team of vessel controllers
. Act as a finance representative in customer and key stakeholder interactions where needed
Your Profile
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following relevant skills sets and experience:
. Degree in Accounting / Finance or ACCA (CA/CPA preferred)
. Minimum 12 years experience in FP&A and finance business partnering
. Proven track record in commercial finance and stakeholder management
. Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities
. Experience in contracts, pricing, and customer profitability analysis
. Ability to influence senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
