STE11639890 Head of Finance (Chemical Manufacturing)

The Company

Our client, a leading chemical manufacturing company with a strong global footprint, is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Finance to oversee all financial operations for its Singapore manufacturing site on Jurong Island.

This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving financial performance, strengthening governance, and partnering closely with senior management to support long term business growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Group CFO, you will work closely with the Plant GM and be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of finance and accounting for the Singapore site. Your responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnering

. Lead the full spectrum of financial management, including FP&A, financial reporting, cost management, and business analysis.

. Serve as a key strategic advisor to the Plant GM, Operations Director, and regional leadership teams.

. Drive financial strategies that support operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and long term value creation.

Financial Control & Governance

. Oversee statutory and management reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

. Maintain strong internal controls across finance, procurement, and operational processes.

. Lead audit activities (internal, external, regulatory) and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards.

Budgeting & Forecasting

. Lead annual budgeting cycles, quarterly forecasts, and long range planning.

. Analyse plant performance, operational KPIs, and material variances to provide insights to senior stakeholders.

. Drive improvements in financial modelling, forecasting accuracy, and scenario analysis.

Costing & Manufacturing Finance

. Oversee product costing, inventory management, and cost of production metrics.

. Partner with operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to optimize working capital and improve plant economics.

. Lead finance initiatives related to capex, asset lifecycle management, energy cost monitoring, and operational efficiency projects.

Team Leadership

. Manage and develop a high performing onsite finance team.

. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and business partnership.

Your Profile
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following relevant skills sets and experience:

. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CA/CPA/CIMA preferred.

. Minimum 12-15 years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role within manufacturing, chemicals, petrochemicals, or industrial sectors.

. Strong command of manufacturing costing, plant finance, and operational KPIs.

. Proven track record of partnering with senior leadership and influencing cross functional teams.

. Excellent analytical skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast paced, highly technical environment.

. Prior experience working on Jurong Island or similar industrial environments is highly advantageous.
