Company Overview

Our client is a global technology company specializing in advanced semiconductor and microelectronic solutions that enable next-generation semiconductor manufacturing and photonic devices. Their teams work at the intersection of research and engineering, developing innovative semiconductor and photonic systems that drive next-generation devices. They are currently seeking a Staff/Senior Photonics Engineer to join their team in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimise advanced optical and photonic systems, including lenses, beam splitters, mirrors, and imaging assemblies.
• Perform ray tracing, wavefront, and tolerance analyses to ensure system performance and manufacturability.
• Evaluate imaging performance, aberrations, focal characteristics, and stray light behavior.
• Contribute to the design, prototyping, and testing of optical components and subsystems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate optical systems into complex instruments or devices.
• Generate technical documentation, design specifications, and performance reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Deep understanding of optical and photonic system design principles.
• Proficiency with design and simulation software (Zemax, CODE V, FRED, LightTools, OSLO, or equivalent).
• Experience in tolerance analysis, aberration correction, and stray light mitigation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or similar analysis tools.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.

Education / Experience

• Ph.D., Master's, or Bachelor's degree in Optics, Photonics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline with relevant experience in optical design.
