Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Automation Department, ensuring timely processing of enquiries, proposals, and order closures.
  • Build regional capability for technical and engineering matters,focusing on marine automation solutions (ship boilers, inert gas systems, ballast control, machinery/main engine monitoring).
  • Establish and monitor technical KPIs audit technical performance of business units
  • Drive continual improvement in technical standards through best practices and adoption of new technologies.

2. Team Leadership & Resource Management

  • Supervise and guide product managers and engineers monitor team performance and development needs
  • Ensure the team has necessary tools and resources resolve technical/operational issues.
  • Manage staff leave, purchase approvals, and manpower to maintain consistent operations.
  • Promote a shared vision and cooperation for continual team improvement.

3. Sales, Customer Support & Business Development

  • Support sales team in customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions
  • Present automation solutions and innovations to customers and end users.
  • Identify new market segments, products, technologies, and OEMs for partnerships.
  • Initiate and develop cooperation with new OEM partners maintain strong relationships with OEM principals.
  • Develop business relationships in India for automation products.

4. Cross Department & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with Service, Engineering, Finance, Stores, and Logistics teams to ensure timely support and deliverables.
  • Liaise with clients and local stakeholders to achieve business goals.

5. Inventory, Procurement & Budget Oversight

  • Monitor stock levels of essential automation products ensure product availability year-round.
  • Oversee procurement to maintain costs within budgetary limits.
  • Approve purchase requests promptly to avoid delays.
  • Prepare detailed business plans and provide quarterly reviews for management.

6. Reporting, KPI & ISO Compliance

  • Oversee monthly invoicing and ensure alignment with revenue targets.
  • Ensure enquiry processing timelines meet ISO standards.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs: enquiry processing time, revenue targets, OEM engagement, stock availability.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent ISO-required documentation attend internal and external audits.
  • Ensure documentation and filing systems comply with company policies.

8. Marketing Support

  • Plan and execute automation-related online marketing campaigns coordinate with marketing teams as needed.

9. QHSE Responsibility

- Participate in the safety risk assessments
- Participate in the investigation and analysis of incidents as and when required. - Ensuring the strict use of PPE's in work area of responsibility. Reporting of near misses, incidents, hazards & injuries to line Manager within the time frame as required by QHSE policy and Manuals. - Ensure waste management as required by the QHSE Management system
