Job Description
The Sports Scientist Intern will work with youth players from the Lion City Sailors Academy Elite program. He or she will be primarily responsible for the collection and processing of football performance data, such as external load (GPS system), internal load (heart rate monitoring), match action/event data, and physical wellness data. In addition, the Sports Scientist Intern may also be responsible for assisting Strength & Conditioning programs in the gym and on-field Performance sessions for the Foundation teams.
The Sports Scientist Intern needs to be a highly motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional football environment. Due to the high volume of data being collected and processed daily, the individual must also be confident working with large amounts of data.
The internship period will be from July to December 2025.
This is a paid role with renumeration depending on education qualifications/job experience.
Job Requirements
Currently pursuing or completed an Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Sport Coaching or Sport & Exercise Science.
High competency with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
High technological literacy - Able to quickly learn how to use new software programs and hardware devices.
Competency in leading Strength & Conditioning programs in the gym and on the field.
Internationally Accredited Strength & Conditioning Certifications (e.g., NSCA or ASCA) would be a plus.
Ability to code (Python/R) would be an advantage.
Experience as a high-performance athlete (in football or other sports) would be an advantage.
Job is on-site in Singapore and involves a 5.5 day work week.
